Whimsy Stamps Creative Team & Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth to you! I have a little something extra to celebrate today along with Independence Day… I am so glad to announce I’ve joined the Whimsy Stamps Creative Team!

Pretty sweet, hey?! It’s some pretty big boots to fill – have you SEEN all the talent on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog? The ladies are truly amazing.

I’m a bit behind, so let’s get right to the good stuff: a sparkly Fourth of July card with a couple different kinds of embossing.

To put this together, I used a Tim Holtz Starry Night embossing folder to make the white starry background and adhered it to a piece of metallic blue cardstock.

For the centerpiece, I blended Barn Door and Faded Jeans Distress Ink (how patriotic!) on a separate piece of cardstock and added a few flicks of Dr. P.H. Marten’s Pen White to make the background. Then, I  created the fireworks with the new Whimsy Stamps Fireworks Stencil and a generous helping of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Silver.

Once that was dry, I used the largest oval from the Basic Stitched Ovals Die Set to trim out the part of the fireworks I wanted. I attached that to the card front and die cut the letters for my sentiment with the Bold ABC Die Set. I popped them up from the card front and held them in place with foam squares.
