Inspiration: Making Fall Backgrounds with Cozy Textures

As the weather gets chillier, I tend to start using what I call “cozy textures” for my backgrounds. Baskets, woven fabrics, and warm colors all give that snuggly comfortable feeling of fall, before you settle in for winter’s bite. For today’s card, I chose to emboss a kraft panel with a basket weave folder. Have I mentioned how much I love these embossing folders? Oh my gosh, just look.

It’s called a Next Level embossing folder, made by We R Memory Keepers. There are more woven, cozy textures available as well that would make fabulous backgrounds for your cards.

The stamp set I used for this card is “Apple of my Pie” by Simon Says Stamp.

I colored the pie slice quickly with a couple of Copic markers (no need to blend smoothly here, it’s pie!), then dressed up the image and sentiment with a few sequins and a couple of maple leaf shaped confetti pieces.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll post more cards using these embossing folders. Go ahead and subscribe now so you don’t miss a thing.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card today. If you liked it, please share the love by pinning to your board on Pinterest!
