Pearls and Rose Gold Holiday Wreath Card

Today I wanted to share with you this super cute rose gold holiday wreath card. Do you do color schemes for your holiday decorations? I am all over rose gold things lately; I think we are going to have a rose gold, wood, and white Christmas this year at Casa de Coursey. I’m so excited!

On to today’s card!

In my adventures over at the CutCardstock blog, I came across Bazzill Rose Gold Foil Cardstock. Y’all, the pictures don’t do it justice. You gotta see this paper in real life. It’s GORGEOUS.

I did a post over there with gift tags that coordinate with this card yesterday if you’d like to check those out too (click here).

This is a pretty easy card to make. To start, I cut a 4 x 5 1/4-inch rectangle from Royal Sundance Felt cardstock. It needed a little something, so I added some score lines to create a frame. They are spaced about 1/4-inch from the edges all the way around.

Next, I used the Pine Needle Wreath Die from Simon Says Stamp and die cut it four times from the Rose Gold Foil. There’s a couple of ways you can build this wreath. The easy way is to use two circle dies and cut a ring with an open center to work on.

Of course, I did it the hard way. I cut a 2 1/2-inch circle and worked my way around the edge, layering the pine sprigs with Aleene’s Tacky Glue, thinking I could stamp the sentiment in the center afterward.

It would have worked, too… but I dropped the stamp and ruined it. No worries, though! I just cut out the center with an Exacto knife, then stamped my sentiment on the card front with Rose Gold Pigment Ink where the wreath would “hang.” I also heat embossed it with Super Fine Clear Embossing Powder so it wouldn’t smudge.

Once that was done, I layered my wreath over the sentiment and adhered it with Tacky Glue.

Then, it was time to decorate! I used a bunch of Adhesive Backed Pearls in coordinating colors and different sizes so it would look like Christmas balls.

I attached my front panel to an A2 card base in Butter Mints. And to finish off, I added a bow of sheer ribbon with a Micro Glue Dot. Any warm toned sheer ribbon will work; I used a light brown color, but a gold ribbon would be gorgeous as well. I linked one of my favorites for you below in the supply list.
